April Make & Take Projects

I enjoyed gathering with friends again yesterday at our Monthly Make & Take class.  These are the projects we made:

Project 1--Rose Wonder card

This card was CASEd from Sharon at As the Ink Dries and it uses the beautiful Rose Wonder stamp set from the Occasions catalog.  I love all the greetings in this stamp set.

To make the Rose Wonder card, we first wet embossed the rose with Whisper White embossing powder on Shimmery White cardstock.  Then we watercolored with Calypso Coral and Old Olive using Aqua Painters.  The greeting is stamped in Soft Suede.  At the end we used Wink of Stella to cover the whole rose adding extra shimmer (hard to see in the photo).

Project 2--Birthday card

This card design was created by Julie DiMatteo and I found it here.  It uses several goodies from the Occasions catalog: Number of Years Bundle, Balloon Bouquet Punch, It's My Party DSP, It's My Party Enamel Dots, Party Punch Pack (for the mini balloon inside), and the Baker's twine combo pack.  The white lines were added with the white gel pen.  The "Woo Hoo" came from the Party Pants SAB set.  The cardstock colors are Sahara Sand, Mint Macaron, Melon Mambo, and Daffodil Delight.

Blue Buterfly card

I found this card at Love for Stamping and thought it was so beautiful.  The butterfly has two layers.  The bottom layer is die cut from Island Indigo cardstock, the top layer is die cut from vellum cardstock (heads up, vellum cardstock is a bit difficult to die-cut). Gorgeous Grunge is used to add speckles to the background and the tiny flower stamped in Pool Party ink comes from the Hello Sunshine Paper Pumpkin stamp set. The words are from the Crazy about You stamp set.  The rhinestones add some final sparkle to the project.  The card base is Going Gray.

Recycled Pencil can

Lorinda planned this fabulous pencil holder project in honor of Earth Day as it is made out of many recycled products.  The brown layer covering the can is cut from a recycled brown paper grocery bag.  The striped paper is from the Typeset DSP.  What a resourceful project!

Recyclable Thank You card

This last card was also designed by Lorinda and I wish I would have taken a photo of the inside as it was also designed to be "recyclable."  She had a small envelope on the inside that you could put a note in and then re-use the card over and over.  Very cute idea!

Sale-A-Bration 2016!

Cel-e-brate good times, come on!  That Lionel Richie song has been running through my head over and over for the past few weeks as I've been gearing up for Stampin' Up's most exciting time of the year--Sale-A-Bration!  Everyone can earn exclusive free products with every $50 they spend between January 5 and March 31.  If you haven't seen the free products yet, check out the catalog HERE.  Demonstrators had the opportunity to earn sale-a-bration items a month early, so I've been spending, earning, and playing with my new stuff!

The first set I played with was the Sky is the Limit set.

I would like to take credit for designing some awesome cards with this set, but I really just copied the creative cards made by my team leaders, Michelle Suit and Robin Merriman.  I am always in need of more masculine cards, so this set is a perfect fit!  I love how these cards turned out.

I'm having a Sale-A-Bration open house on January 16th from 3-6 where I will have many more samples to show using multiple items from the SAB catalog.  Stop by to look at the products and make some cards.  You can make as few or as many as you want.  Your first card is free, additional cards are $2 each. Card and envelope holder

It was so fun to see friends that I haven't seen in a long time.  I love that stamping brings me together with friends, both old and new, and we get to make cool stuff rather than just go to a movie.  It's fabulous!

December Make & Take

We made some fun projects at our Make & Take class on Saturday! Here are pictures for all the projects and instructions for the first one.  If you have any questions about the others, let me know!

Project 1--A simple yet classy gift card holder that works for men or women.

I found instructions for this cute idea HERE.  

How to make it:

1.  Take a 5" square piece of Real Red cardstock and use the envelope punch board to make the smallest envelope (gift card size).  No need to tape the envelope together, just fold it up and use a belly band to keep it closed.  

2.  Use a Basic Black strip of cardstock to make a belly band, 3/4" by 8", fasten with tear tape.  Cut a 3/4 " black square to put on top of the buckle.

3.  Punch the belt buckle out of silver glimmer paper using the label bracket punch.  

4.  Attach the 3/4 inch black square to the top of glimmer buckle using strong adhesive like tear tape.  

5.  Attach the buckle to the band with dimensionals.  The band can slide off and on so you can open the holder and put your gift card inside.

6.  Add a rhinestone to the middle of the belt if desired.

As you can see, you can have your holder face the wide direction, or flip it to be the tall direction and put buttons and buckle on the back side.  Add some ribbon to the top so you can hang your gift card holder on the Christmas tree.  Super cute and fast to make!

Project 2--Winter scene window card

I made this lovely card at a class planned by my friend, Michelle Suit, and knew I wanted to share it with my group.

Stamps: Lovely as a Tree, Oh What Fun

Ink: Lost Lagoon, Soft Sky, Early Espresso

Cardstock: Whisper White, Tip Top Taupe, Lost Lagoon

Other: 1 1/4 inch punch (punch out a post-it note and lay it down while sponging around it to create the moon), 2 1/2 inch punch (for window), Decorative Dots embossing folder, 2-way glue pen, Dazzling Diamonds glitter, sponges

Project 3: Wondrous Wreath Card (I'm doing a whole class around this stamp set, so check back next week for more samples)

Project 4: Another blue Christmas card.  I love blue!

Project 5: Another cute Santa project holding yummy chocolates.  This project was planned by my friend, Lorinda McDaniel.  We do this class together, with each of us planning some of the projects.  This gives our attendees variety with our different styles.

Bonus Projects!  It's Christmas so we couldn't stick to only 5 projects!  We had to add a couple extra surprises!
