DSP Card Patterns

Four Square Card with Hydrangea Hill DSP

Designer Series Paper (DSP) is a wonderful thing for making easy yet beautiful cards.  Over time, I have collected a bunch of patterns I like to use where the DSP is the star of the show on a card.  You just add a greeting and maybe some ribbon and embellishments.  Minimal stamping required!  For the past month, I have been showcasing a different pattern on my weekly Facebook Lives (join me each Wednesday on Stamp with Marsha at noon).  I show a pattern and give a challenge to make a card with that pattern over the next week.  Post your creations on my Happy Stampers with Marsha group page to get entered to win a prize!  These are the patterns I have shared so far.

Four Square Card (shown above)
  • DSP: 3" (wide) x 3-1/2" (tall)
  • Cut this piece in half each direction.  With 3" side at the top, cut in half at 1-1/2, then turn the strips and cut at 1-3/4"
  • Mat under squares: 3-3/8" x 3-7/8"
  • Mat on card base: 4 x 5-1/4"
  • Base: 5-1/2" x 8-1/2", score at 4-1/4"
  • Assemble as shown, then add a greeting and bling.  On the card above, I used the Timeless Label punch for my greeting piece.
Three Panel Wide Card (shown below)
  • DSP: 1-1/2 x 3-1/2 (cut 3 panels)
  • First mat: 3-5/8 x 4-7/8
  • Second mat: 3-3/4 x 5 OR 3-7/8 x 5-1/8 (smaller size shown in the picture)
  • Card Base: 5-1/2" x 8-1/2", score at 4-1/4"
  • I often like to use this design for masculine cards.  I used the Well-Suited DSP for the card above.  The greeting comes from the free Approaching Perfection Sale-a-Bration set.

  • Card base: 5-1/2" x 8-1/2", score at 4-1/4"
  • You can run your 2" DSP strip horizontal or vertical as shown in the additional samples below.

True Love DSP (this paper is my favorite!)

Same card as above with a slightly different DSP
design and a different pop of color.

These DSP cards are fun and easy to make.  You get a totally different look just by changing the DSP.  Join me for the next few weeks to get even more quick and easy patterns!
