Charming Duck Slider Card

I recently learned how to make slider cards--where an image slides across the card as you pull out the insert--and I decided to give it a try with the new Charming Duck Pond bundle.

You can watch my Facebook Live tutorial HERE (no ads), or catch it on YouTube linked below:

Measurements:
  • Balmy Blue: 5-1/2 x 8-1/2, score at 4 and 8
  • Balmy Blue (flap for sliding): 3/4 x 1-1/2, score at 3/4
  • Basic White: 3-3/4 x 5
  • Grassy DSP piece: 3-3/4 x 5-1/4
  • Peach Pie: Punch a 1-1/4" circle
  • Basic White: scraps to die-cut the greeting piece with Stylish Shapes Dies, and to stamp and die-cut the duck image
  • DSP (Peach Pie striped or floral piece): 1/2" x 3" (or more, however long you like it)
The videos linked above will show you how to put this card together.  You can see a different version of the insert below with the little frog image instead of ducks:

The first card I attempted this technique with was an airplane card made with the Adventurous Sky bundle.  I watched a video from Rachael Merrick to learn how to make this kind of card.  I switched the measurements to inches, but if you prefer centimeters, click HERE to check out Rachael's video!

I will be featuring the Charming Duck Pond bundle in my Card Club this month.  If you would like to make the following cards with me (2 each of 4 designs), sign up by June 10th (you can choose one month only, PDF only, or get an ongoing Card Club subscription).  Learn all about my monthly card club HERE.

I hope you give these slider cards a try!  You can find the supply list for the duck card at the end of this post.

Don't forget--time is running out to register for the crafting cruise in October of 2024!  I am co-hosting this epic crafty get away with my good friend, Cindy Lake.  We will have 24 projects for you to make on sea days, then you can enjoy the Eastern Caribbean on port days (or stay in the craft room and crop).  The special group rates on cruise cabins will end June 20th, so don't delay booking this fun vacation!  Click on the picture below for more information:

Happy stamping!

Turtle Pocket Cards

The new Turtle Friends bundle is so adorable!  I couldn't resist getting it!  Plus, I really needed the sentiment: "Sorry I was slow."

I saw the idea for these pocket cards from Kelly Acheson HERE.  I made the same layout, but changed the stamp set and paper.  You can include a gift card in your pocket along with the greeting card insert, or just do the greeting card insert.

You can watch the VIDEO of me making this project HERE.

Measurements (in inches):
  • Granny Apple Green cardstock: 4-1/4 x 11; score at 5-1/2, and 9-1/2
  • DSP (designer series paper) for the bottom front: 2-1/2 x 3-3/4
  • Mat under DSP: 2-3/4 x 4
  • DSP for the flap: 1-1/4 x 4
  • White cardstock for insert: 3-1/4 x 4-7/8
  • Mat behind white insert: 3-1/2 x 5-1/8
Tip: When you glue the sides of your pocket down, I recommend putting the insert and gift card (if you are using it) inside first so it gives the room you need when you glue it down (I show this in the video).  This makes it easier to slide in and out.  I didn't do this on the first one, and it is a tighter squeeze.

We will be making this card along with other fun projects at my Virtual Turtle Friends Stamp Camp on July 17th.  I'll post more information soon!

Please use the following host code on online orders in June: V6KDKJAA.  If your order is over $50, you will get a free roll of Flirty Flamingo Metallic Ribbon from me as a thank you.

Happy Stamping,
Marsha

Ice Cream Shaker Cards

Today I want to share some fun shaker cards with you. We made the stacked scoop version at my Birthday Bash craft retreat back in January.  It is the easier of the two cards.  I cased the blue and green version from Patsy Waggoner HERE.  One of my friends saw it on Pinterest and wanted to know how to make it.  I'm not sure exactly how Patsy did it, but you can see me make both cards in THIS VIDEO.  You will find the measurements below.

Stacked Scoop Shaker Card

  • Thick White cardstock: 5-1/2 x 8-1/2, score at 4-1/4
  • Basic White cardstock: 4 x 5-1/4
  • Ice Cream Corner DSP (Sprinkles pattern): 3 x 3
  • Window sheet: 3 x 3
  • Punch three ice cream scoops from Rainbow Glimmer Paper
  • Punch the cone from the DSP
  • DSP for envelope flap: 2-1/4 x 5-3/4 (glue to the flap and trim off extra)
  • Ink Pads: Bermuda Bay, Gorgeous Grape, and Purple Posy
  • You can see how I put this card together HERE.
Blue and Green Shaker Card

  • Coastal Cabana cardstock: 8-1/2 x 5-1/2, score at 4-1/4 (card base)
  • Blue/green DSP: 3-1/4 x 4-3/4 (card front)
  • Blue/green DSP: 5/8 x 3-3/4 (inside)
  • Blue/green DSP: 1-3/4 square (to put behind the window)
  • Basic white cardstock: 3-3/4 x 5; cut two, one for the front and one for the inside
  • Basic white cardstock: 2 x 3-1/2; cut two, one for the punched part and one for the bottom (you will trim both, please refer to this video starting around the 15 minute mark).
  • Coastal Cabana: 2-1/4 x 3-3/4 (mat under white piece)
  • Pear Pizazz: 3/8 x 1-5/8 (greeting)
Have fun making these shaker cards!  I'm glad the Sweet Ice Cream stamp set and punch will be staying around for another year.  I'm sad to see the awesome designer series paper retiring this month.  Grab it while you can!

Please use the following host code on orders this month: V6KDKJAA.  You will receive a free gift from me on orders over $50.

Happy Stamping!
