Home for the Holidays Retreat

I just returned from a wonderful "Home for the Holidays" stamping retreat put on by Michelle Suit at the Wyndham Garden Hotel in Manassas.  Michelle had her entire collection of stamps, punches, dies, ink pads, etc. in the room that we were free to use for the two and a half days we were there.

Of course, I brought plenty of my own stuff too!  We each had our own 8-foot table to work at.  It was so wonderful to have some uninterrupted time to play with my craft collection!

In addition to having time to work on our own projects, Michelle also had some fun make & takes for us to do.
Treat Pouch made with Santa's Workshop suite.

Made with "Making Christmas Bright" stamp set and "Christmas Bulb Builder Punch"

Origami gift card holder made with "Celebrate the Season" stamp set
Adorable card made with "Signs of Santa" Bundle

Made with "Country Home" stamp set and "Buffalo Check" background stamp; colored in with blends

Michelle had these adorable cookies waiting for us at our table when we arrived.
Michelle is a talented and generous lady.  I highly recommend all of her events!  Find Michelle at SuitablyStamped.

Set Sampler day with Connie

I wanted to share some of the fun projects we made at a Set Sampler Day with Connie Heisey.  Connie is a wonderful demonstrator in Hanover, PA.  She puts on fantastic events for her team and other demonstrators.  At Set Sampler Days, we use four different stamp sets to make four sample cards for a total of 16 cards in all.  We also get to watch demonstrations of new techniques and ideas.  It is always a fun event.  Join my team and we can go to the next Set Sampler Day together!

I'm afraid my lighting was bad when I took the photos, but I'm sharing them anyway.  The colors are much more vivid in person!

I love how the cards are simple yet not plain.  The first set of cards was made with the Big Wishes stamp set and Tranquil Textures DSP.

The second set we used was Detailed with Love.  These cards also feature the 2018-2020 In Colors, both with card stock and DSP.

The third set we used was the lovely Abstract Impressions.

Last on the menu was the stamp set included with the Darling Label Punch Box.  These projects also feature the Twinkle Twinkle DSP.

These are a few individual photos of my favorites from the day:

One of my favorite demonstrations was how to use ink spots, clear blocks, and a spritzer to create colorful backgrounds.  The demonstration was done by either Edith or Esther Graybill.  I wish I would have written her name down.  I loved her gorgeous samples, and I can't wait to try out the technique myself!

That's all for today.  Be sure to check out the special on DSP (designer series paper) in July. Buy three packs of DSP and get one free!

You also won't want to miss the opportunity to get ten FREE ink pads!  Join the Stampin' Up family by purchasing a $99 starter kit before July 31st  (you choose the contents) and get a free ink pad assortment (10 ink pads in total, $67.50 value) PLUS $25 of additional product free!  What a deal!

Magical Day

The Magical Day Bundle in the Occasions Catalog is a must-have!  I can't stop making cards with this delightful set.  The Myths and Magic DSP is really special with it's iridescent raised glittered designs on one side and colorful all-occasion imagery on the other. Photos don't do it justice!  The Myths and Magic Washi tape and Glimmer Paper add even more sparkle to your magical creations.  I have had so much fun with this bundle!

My first card is cased from a card I saw on display at OnStage Stampin' Convention last November.  I'm not sure I even noticed this bundle until I saw this card and knew I wanted to make it!  The sparkly striped background is made with the Myths & Magic Washi tape.  The dragon, knight, and castle images are cut out from the paper.  The words are from the stamp set embossed in silver and cut apart.  Click on the photos for a better view of the sparkle.

The next card was cased from the Occasions catalog on p. 36.  One of the things I love about Stampin' Up is that I don't have to actually come up with card designs on my own.  I can find so many fabulous card ideas from the catalog and Pinterest.  The mermaid images on this card are also cut out from the designer paper.  The sentiment comes from the Picture Perfect Birthday stamp set.

I found the designs for the next two cards from the Stampin' Success magazine for demonstrators.  The dragon and knight images are stamped and colored with watercolor pencils, then die-cut with the framelits in the bundle.

The last few card designs came from Pinterest and/or OnStage display boards.  The images were all stamped and colored in with a mix of Stampin' Blends and Stampin' Write markers.  The dragon card with the brick background is my favorite!

Party Pandas!

It's my favorite time of the Stampin' Up year--Sale-A-Bration!  From now until March 31, you can select a FREE item from the Sale-A-Bration catalog with every $50 purchase.  Learn more about Sale-A-Bration HERE.

The first free stamp set I chose was Party Pandas.  These little Pandas are so cute and you can find an abundance of ideas for this set on Pinterest.  These are a few of the cards I made, inspired by others.  I have so many other ideas pinned as well!

The red and black panda card is my favorite.  It uses two sale-a-bration items, Party Pandas (free with $50 order) and Celebrate You thinlits (free with a $100 order).  The striped paper is from the new Petal Passion DSP.  The balloon was punched out with the Balloon Bouquet punch.  This card also has the new Glitter & Clear Epoxy shapes on it.

The card above has a fairly simple design.  I used retired paper and ribbon because my black shimmer ribbon hadn't arrived yet.  I'll be using that next time.

The leafy piece in the card above and the Berry Burst ribbon came from the January Paper Pumpkin kit.  I love how the panda is peeking through the leaves.  I added some Dazzling Diamond Glitter to the balloon and a glitter enamel dot to the greeting strip.

This is one of the pre-cut 3 1/2 by 5 note cards.  This is the same DSP that is in the other card.  The green is Lemon Lime Twist.

I have really enjoyed playing with the Party Panda set and I have more cards I still want to make.  I hope you enjoy it too!

Please use the monthly hostess code when placing online orders: E6FSSNMQ.  If your order is over $50, you will receive a free ink pad plus get a free Sale-a-Bration item!

Happy Stamping!

Cookie Cutter Christmas

The Cookie Cutter Christmas stamp set is so versatile and so much fun to play with!  The coordinating punch makes it fast and easy to punch out  FIVE different images from the set--a reindeer, a gingerbread man, a teddy bear, a darling Eskimo, and a Santa.  We recently made three cards from this set at my Christmas Card marathon.

I cased all of these cards from Pinterest.  Some of the supplies used on the cards are retired such as the twine, the Pool Party ribbon, the snow flake images (from Snow Place set), and the DSP (Candy Cane Christmas) on the Santa and reindeer card.

Here is another cute card we made at one of my classes using the gingerbread image.  The tray is made with the Scalloped Tag Topper punch, my score lines are 1/8" apart.

The only image left to show is the sweet teddy bear.  This is a simple baby card made with this image.  I've done this card with a pink bow and a pink card stock layer to welcome a baby girl.

I have really enjoyed making projects with this stamp set.  The next projects I want to make with this set are some darling Christmas tags created by Judy May.  See her awesome tags HERE.
