Retreat Card Swap

Are you interested in joining a card swap at the retreat?  Read all the details below.

Swap Themes

When your register for the event, you can choose to participate in one or two swaps.  The first swap is a card swap, any sentiment or occasion is fine.  The other swap will be for Valentine themed 3D projects.

How does it work?

You design a card (or 3D project) and make multiples of that card to give to every person who signs up.  At the event (usually on Saturday morning), you will put your basket of cards out and go around and collect a card from every other person's basket. So if 12 people signed up for the card swap, you would make 12 cards with a similar design (it's okay if they vary slightly), then you would walk away with 12 different cards, one of them being your own (think of a cookie exchange).  The same concept applies for the 3D project.

Additional card swap guidelines:

  • Use Stampin' Up product as much as possible and do your best work. Product does not need to be current, retired is fine.
  • Your card design does not need to be original (feel free to copy from Pinterest), but it should be made by you.
  • Put each card in a clear envelope to protect it.  Regular mailing envelopes are not required, but if your card is not the typical size (4-1/4" x 5-1/2" when closed), please consider including a mailing envelope.  You can get clear envelopes from Stampin' Up, or order them HERE on Amazon.
  • Please do not put personal markings directly on the card.  You are encouraged to put your name or card "recipe" on a separate insert or post-it note.
  • I will email you the total number of swaps you need to make after registration closes.  The most you will have to make for either swap is 36, but I usually have less than 15 people sign up.
  • Please be gracious about whatever cards (or 3D projects) you receive. If you don't like what you receive, keep that to yourself and donate it later.  Be kind!
I hope you enjoy swapping ideas!
