Lovely Garden Double Decker Pop-Out Cards

 

Happy Mother's Day!  Today I want to share with you a new-to-me fun fold card that I received for Mother's Day.  I enjoyed it so much that I made some different versions of my own.  This is the card I received from my friend, Sally.
I loved how the center greeting section popped out when I opened it.  I measured the pieces in the card from Sally and made a couple of versions with the Lovely Garden paper, which is my current favorite  designer series paper!  You can see a video of me making the cards below.


I asked Sally what this fun-fold was called, and she said it is the "Double Decker Pop-Out Card" that she learned from Susan Campfield.  I should have guessed!  Susan Campfield is the queen of fun-fold cards.  You can see the wonderful variations of this card she made HERE.

The first card I made was the blue version with pink flowers.  I did use some retired product on this version.  First, the cardstock is Boho Blue which is sadly no longer available.  I fussy cut the flowers both on the front and inside from the Lovely Garden paper.  The sentiment on the front is from a new set--Blooming Phrases.  The inside Mother's Day sentiment is from a retired set--Perennial Postage.

Measurements in inches:
  • Thick white cardstock: 5-1/2 x 8-1/2, score at 2-1/8 and 4-1/4
  • Boho Blue (back panel): 4 x 5-1/4
  • Boho Blue (smaller panels): 1-7/8 x 5-1/4 (cut 2)
  • Basic White (inside pop-out): 3 x 4-3/4
  • Basic White (pop-out mechanism): 2-1/4 x 3, with 3" side at the top, score at 3/4, 1-1/2, and 2-1/4
  • Basic White: die-cut the fourth frame in from the Textured Notes Dies (about 2-1/4 x 3-3/4")
  • Boho Blue: die-cut the third frame in from the Textured Notes Dies (about 2-3/4 x 4-1/4)
Next I made a version with the green floral paper in the Lovely Garden DSP pack.  The sentiments are from Unbounded Love stamp set.  I fussy cut the yellow flower on the inside from Floral Delight paper.

Measurements in inches:

  • Thick white cardstock: 5-1/2 x 8-1/2, score at 2-1/8 and 4-1/4
  • Garden Green (back panel): 4 x 5-1/4
  • Garden Green (smaller panels): 1-7/8 x 5-1/4 (cut 2)
  • Basic White (inside pop-out): 3 x 4-1/2
  • Basic White (pop-out mechanism): 2-1/4 x 3, with 3" side at the top, score at 3/4, 1-1/2, and 2-1/4
  • DSP (black striped on back panel): 3-3/4 x 5
  • DSP (polka-dot on narrow panel): 1-3/4 x 5
  • DSP (green floral): 2-3/4 x 3-3/4
  • Garden Green (mat behind green DSP): 3 x 4
  • I used Labeled with Love punch for the greeting piece
