Graduation Fun Fold Card

Today I'm sharing the measurements for making this fun-fold graduation card that includes a gift card pocket on the inside.  I've actually been wanting to write this post for a couple of years, but I haven't managed to do it!  Unfortunately, most of the products I used have retired, but you can still make the general card base with a fold-back cap and pocket inside; all you need to do is use different dies to get the same effect.  I have swapped out different dies through the years of making this card.

I saw this card design from Kimberly Myers several years ago.  You can see me make this card at the video below:

Here are the measurements:
  • Card base: 4-1/4 x 8-1/2"; with 8-1/2 edge along the top, score in 2-1/8" from each side
  • White card (on the inside): 4 x 8-1/2; with 8-1/2 edge along the top, score at 4" and 8" (you will have a 1/2" flap at the end)
  • Cap: 2-7/8" square
  • Collar piece (inner layer): 2-3/4" square (cut on the diagonal, you only need half per card)
  • Collar piece (outer layer): 3" square (cut on the diagonal, you only need half per card)
  • Tab for cap: 7/8 x 2", with 2" edge at the top, score at 1"
  • Pocket strip: 1-1/2 x 4" (attach along the bottom to the folded up tab on the inside white card, watch video for clarification)
Note: You will cut the triangle pieces in half again to put one on each side of the card base flaps.  Do this before attaching to the base.

Here it is in another color (I'm getting ahead for a graduation next year!):

This is such a fun card pattern (though not a quick one) that is easy to swap out colors according to the school.  We made these at a class in May with all sorts of different colors to coordinate with the school colors.  For the cards shown above, I used the following products (all retired now):
  • Alphabet a la Mode Dies for the numbers
  • Birthday Celebration Dies for the "tassel" on the cap
  • Beautiful Balloons Bundle for star dies and some greeting stamps
  • Cap & Gown stamp set for some of the greetings
In the older sample below, I used a different die from Beautiful Balloons for the tassel and my small numbers were cut with an old set--Little Numbers Thinlit dies.  As you can see, it's easy to change thing around on this card.

I hope you enjoy making this card!  I think I will continue to make it for years to come!

Before you go, I want to invite you to join us on a crafting cruise!  We'll be cruising to the Caribbean Nov. 15-22, 2026, leaving out of Miami.  You get to craft on sea days and visit ports on shore days.  It's the best of both worlds!  Our group rates are good until July 17th.  Read all about it HERE.

Sweet Jar Easel Cards

Aren't these easel cards made with the Sweet Jar Bundle so fun?!  I saw a picture of a birthday and Valentine version made by Karin Braxton that inspired me to give them a try!  The Sweet Jar Bundle is currently on the last chance list, so grab it before it's gone!  I made the following Easter card version on a recent Facebook Live.

You can watch the replay of that video on YouTube linked below:

These are the measurements in inches for this card:
  • Coastal Cabana card base: 5-1/2 x 8-1/2, on 8-1/2" side, score at 4-1/4
  • On the front panel of the card, cut in 1-3/8" from each side from the bottom of the card to the middle score line (best understood by watching the video).
  • Turn the card and score only the middle section of that front panel at 2-1/8 (best understood by watching the video).
  • Flirty Flamingo: 3-1/4 x 4-1/2, die-cut a large arch (4th die in) with the Everyday Arches Dies
  • Basic White: 3 x 4, die-cut an arch (5th die in) with the Everyday Arches Dies
  • Easter Joy DSP (Designer Paper): 1-1/8 x 4 (cut 2)
  • Basic White (inside panel): 2-5/8 x 4
  • The "Happy Easter" sentiment came from a past Paper Pumpkin kit--Sweet Springtime, Feb. 2024
  • To make the "jelly beans," stamp the image in Smoky Slate ink, but stamp off first so it's very light. Then color over the top with Stampin' Blends.
You can see photo icons of supplies used to make this card at the end of this post.  Click on them if you would like to purchase.

The following Valentine version was made using the new Made with Love Designer Series Paper, with Real Red cardstock and ink, plus Flirty Flamingo ink.  The little hearts are from the Loose Valentine's Assortment.  The sentiment on the front came from a past Paper Pumpkin kit as well--Lovely Lavender, Jan. 2024.

The following St. Patrick's Day version was made using the Florals in Bloom Designer Series Paper, with Granny Apple Green and Garden Green cardstock and ink.  I used the Traditional Sparkling Sequins to decorate the card (also on the Last Chance List). The sentiment on the front came from the Confetti Birthday Kit (retired now from the Kit Collection).

This Easter version uses the same products as the first card, but the DSP is a different pattern.

These easel cards were fun to make! I love how colorful they are.  Give them a try and let me know how it goes!  You can see a supply list for the Easter card at the bottom of this post.

Come cruise with me!
I can't end without inviting you to come cruise and craft with me either to the Bahamas (Nov. 15, 2026) or to Alaska (August 6, 2027).  Read all about my crafting cruises HERE.  You get to craft on sea days (24 projects provided by us), and explore and go sight-seeing on port days.  It's the best!  Hope to see you on the ship!

Poppin' By Box and Gift Card Slider Card

Today I want to share two adorable projects that use the Poppin' By bundle.  This bundle is on the "Last Chance" list, which means it's only available while supplies last.  Grab it before it's gone!

You can see me make these projects on the video below.  Read on to see the measurements.  You will find a supply list at the end of this post.

I got the pattern for the box from Angie Juda at Chic' n scratch.  She has a free PDF tutorial on her website.  I decorated my box differently than hers, so you should definitely check her version out because it is super cute as well!  I took my inspiration for decorating the front of the box from a card made by Stamp with Laurie.  You can see her cute card HERE.

Poppin' By Box Measurements (in inches):

  • Real Red cardstock: 8-1/4 x 8-1/4
  • Score on one side at 3/4, 3-3/4, 4-1/2, 7-1/2
  • TURN and score at 3/4, 6-3/4, and 7-1/2
  • Cut along the score lines to make the box look like the template  shown in the photo below.  Use a corner rounder punch to get the rounded edges.
  • Striped DSP (from Turtle-y Cute pack): 2-1/2 x 5-1/2
  • Daffodil Delight cardstock: 2-5/8 x 5-5/8
  • Scraps of white, black, Real Red, and Balmy Blue for the popcorn bucket and film pieces

This box holds Pop Secret snack size popcorn (insert at a slight angle to fit).  You could also slip a movie theater gift card inside with some candy instead of popcorn.  In the video I show how I get the two colors on the popcorn bucket, along with instructions for making the 3D glasses.

Poppin' By Card Measurements (in inches):
  • Real Red cardstock: 4-1/4 x 11, score at 3-3/4 and 9-1/4
  • Garden Green cardstock (sliding pocket part): 3-3/4 x 7, score at 1/2" and 5"
  • Plaid DSP (from Lovely Garden pack): 4 x 3-1/2
  • Striped DSP (from Lovely Garden pack): 4 x 1-1/2
  • Polka Dot DSP (from Lovely Garden pack): 3-1/2 x 1-3/4
  • Basic White cardstock (front): 2-7/8 x 2-1/2
  • Basic Black cardstock: 3-1/8 x 2-3/4
  • Basic White (inside): 3-1/2 x 2-3/8
  • Basic White (greeting): 1/2 x 3-1/2 (trim after stamping)
  • Daffodil Delight cardstock: punch a 1-1/2" circle
  • Real Red cardstock: 3/8 x 2-3/4
  • Scraps of white and black for the popcorn bucket
Yes, this card has a lot of pieces!  I plan to put a movie theater gift card inside.  My son loves going to the movies and he loves popcorn, so it's perfect!

Thanks for poppin' by!  I hope you enjoy making this project!

Happy Stamping!
